Describe your image

'fleet.' is a body of work I created after suffering from a health scare that made me realise just how precious life is. I am 20 years old, and having my life nearly taken away from me was something that I struggled to comprehend. The way I decided I wanted to come to terms with it was through what I know best, creating. The body of work follows my findings of small moments within my day-to-day life that may not seem significant to some, but to me, felt monumental after what I had experienced. I wanted to highlight fleeting moments that most just let pass by, but still have masses of beauty in them. Moments as small as the sun on someone's neck. Yes, this could happen again, but never in the same way as in that circumstance. All of these images were taken on film to further emphasise the impermanence of these moments, because if you lose that roll of film, you lose the evidence that the moment even happened.
I also wanted to bring these images back to where I had taken them, so I decided to submerge, burn and dye the rolls of film with substances that hold meaning to me.
